i must admit that one of my guilty pleasures is watching american idol. i try to catch the show as much as i can, my erratic work schedule permitting.

this season (season 8) im rooting for danny gokey and kris allen.
last week (or last last week?) i so enjoyed danny's take on "what hurts the most". he gave me goosebumps and i got misty eyed during his performance.

i like the coffee of kopiroti. sweet and sweet. ok obviously, im no connoisseur (is that how its spelled?)

i love their roti, especially the crusty edges.

but i dont think im going to order their soft boiled eggs anytime soon (or in this lifetime).

i dont like pepper in my eggs and i dont like the 'sauce'. its kinda weird tasting. ok, maybe im not just not partial to soft boiled eggs... to runny for me.

well, tis just my take. how was it for you?

im going to be a godparent (baptism) for the 10th time today. i like kids but occassions for 'mandatory' gift giving like baptisms and christmas oftentimes give me headaches.

a lot of times i dont know what thing to buy or when i see something i like, it tends to be very very expensive. they're little people and so i cant give them things that i also want to receive myself. i would have been contented with a book--even a second hand, dog-eared copy of a thriller/suspense or a romance would do but alas, i cant say the same for the kids (or even the 'rents).

hmm, would a simple hug and kiss do? wholeheartedly given, sincere (and free hehehe).

hey, dont they all say its the thought that counts? :P

i saw this book, "1001 books you must read before you die" (or something along those lines). i quickly browsed through it and guess what? out of 1001, ive only read 19. i would have reached around 30 but i think it would be cheating if i include half-read books.

hmm, the negative side is that i got a long waaay to go before i complete the list.

on the plus side, i think im going to live to a hundred before i even think of dying.

easy temperature conversions

so your a nursing student and the topic is converting celsius to fahrenheits. and vice versa.. and youre thinking 'what the heck?, i thought there are no maths in nursing?'.

i can vaguely remember that it involves dividing 9 over 5 and 5 over 9. dont even ask me what the answer to those are.

so heres an easier way to do it, you only have to remember the numbers 32 and 1.8.

to convert fahrenheit to celsius:

Fahrenheit-32 /1.8

like for instance converting 98 F to celsius:

98-32 = 66.

66/1.8 = 36.66

so therefore 98 F is 36.66 C

to convert celsius to fahrenheit:

celsius x 1.8 + 32

take 35 C...

35 C x 1.8 = 63

63 + 32 = 95.

35 C is 95 F.

if your not sure, you can double check your answer by converting 95 F to celsius and see if you get 35.
